Joan Judy Ballert

Joan Judy Ballert, age 75, resident of Temperance, Michigan, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 4, 1946, in Monroe, Michigan, to the late Rockwell and Lillian Curtis.

Joan worked at home, caring for her family. She enjoyed doing word searches, latch hook, puzzles, reading, and baking. Joan, who was known as always happy with a beautiful soul, would do anything for anybody. Most of all, Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her three loving children, Kathy (Scott) McBride, Cliff Ballert, and Marie (David) Jeremy; grandchildren, Tiffany (Tyler) Berry, Lauren (Ben) Smieszek, Kayla (Damon) Hartford, and Chase Jeremy; four great grandchildren, James, John, McKenna, and Jackson; and a brother, Henry Curtis.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Curtis, Mark Curtis, Lester Curtis, and Mary Lou Worrick.

Due to Covid-19, services will not be open to the public. You may stream the service at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 by clicking here. Private burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. A celebration of Joan's life will take place on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Details will be announced at a later date.
