Joan B. Soster

Joan B. Soster, age 64, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born on September 18, 1947 to Leo and Dorothy (Kohls) Soster in Cleveland, Ohio. Joan was a RN and was employed with St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and then Health South Surgery Center as a surgery nurse for 30 years before retiring. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Joan was an avid cat lover and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Soster. Joan is survived by her brother, Timothy (Sharon) Soster; nieces, Jill (Ernie) and Barbara "Bubba" Soster; nephews, Jeffery (Evelyn) and Timothy Soster; 5 great-nephews; feline companions, Sydney and Sam; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Toledo Memorial Park.
