Jimmy Poindexter

Jimmy H. Poindexter, age 58, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born March 15, 1950 to Hershel and Jean (Duke) Poindexter in Charleston, Mississippi. Jimmy had a heart of gold and was willing to offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and camping. Most importantly, Jimmy cherished the time he spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Poindexter. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Debbie Poindexter; mother, Jean Tedford; children, Shirley (Bob) Hutchison; Tonya Hudson; Danny Box, Jr.; David Box; Jeannie (John) Hoffman; Thomas (Teresa) Poindexter and Glenda Wright; 20 grandchildren; brother, Jerry Poindexter; sisters, Debbie Williams; Bonnie Pineda and Shirley Butler and many dear and special friends.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. John LaPrarie. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care and support they provided for Jimmy.
