Jesus G. Maldonado

Jesus G. "Chewie" Maldonado, age 91, of Lambertville, Michigan passed away peacefully Sunday, February 20, 2022 at home with loving family by his side. He was born on August 27, 1930 to Alejandro Maldonado and Norberta Garcia in Villalba, Puerto Rico. Jesus worked on the farm for many years and then retired in 1993 from Sharon Manufacturing after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Lambertville, MI. Jesus was a huge baseball fan, especially of the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and loved dominos. Jesus was also an avid lottery player. He was a hard worker, loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jesus' smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Shirley Maldonado; and son, Jesus Maldonado Jr. Left to cherish Jesus' memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Amada Maldonado; daughters, Gloria Schaefer and Diane (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren, Travis (Ashley), Trent, Terrah, Taylor (Brendan), Jamie (Missy), Brent (Adrienne), Alyssa (Jack Palmer), and Miranda (Mike); 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; several siblings; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation and Services for Jesus will be private for family at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Interment will follow in Whiteford Union Township Cemetery.
