Jessie J. Newman

Jessie Jane Newman, age 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2024, at Ebeid Hospice. Jessie was born on December 30, 1939 in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Fannie (Mabes) Baisden.

A woman of faith, Jessie was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where she was past member of Daughters of Mary Altar Rosary Society. In her earlier years, Jessie enjoyed bowling and playing Bunco. She was very crafty; she made beautiful Christmas ornaments for her family and would make hairbows for her granddaughters. Most of all, family was most important. The time spent with her grandchildren, spoiling them, would be memories they will always remember. Jessie would help anyone in need, donating to any charity that needed support. Her love and smile will forever be missed who were blessed to have known her. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you again!

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving son, Jim Newman; two daughter-in-laws, Ann York and Merrilee Newman; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Keller; and a very loving and close friend, Janice Konoff.

In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by her loving husband, William "Bob" Newman; daughter, Debbie (Gary) Lepper; sons, Jeff and Bobby Newman; and many brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 6149 Hill Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43615, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:30 am until the time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am, with Father Phil Smith officiating. Jessie will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Toledo.
