Jessica Marie Bush

Jessica Marie Bush was born February 21, 1984 to Jerome and Rosemarie Bush. She departed this life 38 years, 5 months and 16 days later on Sunday August 7, 2022 at her home.

Jessica accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Church of the New Covenant by the late, Dr. John H. McKissick, when she was nine years old. Jessica had a beautiful soprano voice and loved singing. She sang her first solo when she was a young girl, "My God is Real". Jessica continued to sing all throughout her early years in church, grade school, high school and inevitably in college as a Voice Major at Bowling Green State University. She led praise and worship at Redemption Baptist Church. She was also a member of Inspirational Baptist Church, where she met and still maintains special friendships. Whenever she had the opportunity, she would attend Living Word Christian Center in Chicago, IL. If unable to attend, she would watch their services online every Sunday and Wednesday.

Jessica attended grade school at St. Martin de Porres from kindergarten through second grade and First Church of God Christian School from grades 4-8. She attended Central Catholic High School, graduating in 2002. Jessica continued her education at Bowling Green State University majoring in Music, with her instrument being voice. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006. Jessica later attended the University of Toledo and obtained a Master's of Music Degree in Music Education in 2017.

Jessica always liked to work. Her first job was at Sears when she was 16. She worked at Stein Mart while she was in college during the summer and winter breaks. While in college, she actually did janitorial work of cleaning the buildings at night. Jessica would often regale her grandparents with her escapades cleaning "toilets". Her Grandfather would laugh to the point of tears, telling her she was "building character ". She worked at Coldwater Creek as second job, after she began working for TPS. We jokingly called her "Jamaican Jessica".

Jessica was employed with Toledo Public Schools as a long-term substitute teacher for the past 15 years. She taught all grade levels, but preferred high school. She excelled as a Music Teacher in both grade school and high school. She also gave voice and piano lessons over the last decade to both adults and children.

She worked briefly for Monroe United Methodist Church as one of their Choir Directors and Sylvania First United Methodist Church as an Assistant Choir Director, as well as the Bell Choir Director.

Jessica loved to attend concerts and travel, both of which she did as often as possible. She even traveled to Germany and Austria when in college. Jessica visited family members as soon as possible that she was unable to see during the pandemic. She traveled to Tucson, Nicodemus, KS, Miami Beach, Tampa, New Orleans, East St. Louis, and Chicago.

Jessica performed the National Anthem at the Toledo Mudhens. She also performed the National Anthem and the Canadian National Anthem at the Toledo Walleye games. She sang whenever asked to for weddings, funerals and other functions. She also had an opportunity to sing at Murphy's Jazz Club with the late Claude Black, performing the timeless classic "Summertime"

She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents Merle and Hazel Abbott, and Deloris Bates and fiancé Victor Ennols, II. She is survived by her parents, Jerome and Rosemarie Bush; siblings- Jerome (Jay), Johnathon, Chicago, IL and Joy, a host of aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.
