Jess W. Hanely, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Hospice at Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on January 26, 1929 to Clyde and Ruby (Shatzer) Hanely in Moline, Ohio. Jess served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a supervisor with Daimler Chrysler for 20 years. Jess was an avid Cleveland Indians and Miami Dolphins fan. He owned and raced horses also. Jess loved nothing more than spending time with his family, always looking forward to every get together.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Glen and Paul Hanely. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dori; sons: Doug (Sue) Keller, Rich Baumhower and Bruce (Kim) Baumhower; daughters: Cindy (Thomas) DeYoung, Cher (Mark) Norman and Candy (Harley) Brown; grandchildren: Justin, Chad, Lexy, Robert, Brooke, Carli, Brandi and Lance; Great-grandson: Kyle; and brothers: Howard Hanely and Dick (Ginny) Hanely.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 3 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Andy J. Hill. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
