Jerry M. Vanderhoff, 70, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2013 after battling Parkinson's disease for many years.
Born on December 29, 1942, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Sue; parents, Fred M. Vanderhoff and Irene Baker and brother, Fred. He leaves behind daughter, Julie (James) Price of Pemberville; son, Steven of Indianapolis, three grandchildren, Delaney, Calvin and Jasper; two sisters, Sue Conboy and Doris (Bill) Hemple; brother, Orville Vanderhoff; sister-in-law, Meda Vanderhoff and several loving nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Macomber High School, he worked as a printing press operator and married Sue in 1966. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at the University of Toledo. After many years in the marketing and printing businesses with various companies, including Bostwick-Braun, The Jobst Institute, La-Z-Boy and Mercury Printing Company, he and Sue pursued a karaoke business which they enjoyed for several years. His professional associations included the University of Toledo Alumni Association, the National Management Association, the In-plant Printing Organization and the Advertising Club of Toledo. Jerry loved karaoke, the Detroit Tigers and the Ohio State Buckeyes, traveling with his family, playing volleyball and basketball and spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
