Jerry Glenn Cox, Sr.
Jerry Glenn Cox, Sr., age 68 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 21, 1942 to George D. and Hattie (Tate) Cox in Surgoinsville, Tennessee.
Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S Army from 1959 - 1964 during the Vietnam Conflict. Jerry was stationed in Germany the same time Elvis Presley was, although he never got to meet him, he heard how great of a person he was. Shortly after serving in the Army he moved to Toledo, Ohio where he made it his home for many years. On October 6, 1967 he married Judith Ann Farve and together they spent 43 ½ years together. After 25 years of service, Jerry retired from Hydra-Matic due to health reasons. He was a hard worker and always put his family's needs first. Jerry would walk in the snow and cold looking for work when he was laid off from Chevrolet just to make sure his family was taken care of. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends and he will be missed but never forgotten. May you rest in peace and be free from suffering.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Judy; son, Jerry Glenn Cox, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Sue Bacholl and Allie Gray Hopkins and brother, George. preceding him in death are son Robert Allen Cox, brothers Dallas, Wallace, Jim and sister Geneva.
The family will receive guests Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Interment will following Toledo Memorial Park .
