Jerry Edelstein

Jerry Edelstein, 78, died on March 18, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Born October 27, 1932 to Harry and Peggy Edelstein, who both predeceased him, Jerry was a lifelong resident of Toledo, Ohio and attended Calvin Woodward High School; he retired from Libbey Glass after 32 years. He was a veteran serving in Japan and Korea in the armed forces. Jerry was an avid sports enthusiast and diehard fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. One of his proudest achievements was coaching junior high football at Gesu School in the late 1960's. He could often be found at Miracle Lanes and Jugs for the better part of thirty years as he bowled on a variety of leagues.

He leaves three daughters, Lynn Krum (Doug) of Borger, Texas, Cindy Sarnowski of Poland, Ohio, and Gerri Mann (Don) of Longview, Texas, as well as ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, his sister Doreen Berning who predeceased him, brother Barry Schuller of Dallas, Texas and brother Bernard Edelstein of Toledo, Ohio. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends, especially Marcia Edelstein, Avis Miller, and Jim Johnson.

A memorial will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Calvary Bible Chapel, 3740 W. Alexis Road, on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
