Jerry D. Meidt, age 77, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born November 11th, 1932 in Toledo. Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country proudly. He was an electrician with Champion Spark Plug for many years before retiring. Jerry enjoyed traveling, camping and riding motor cycles. He and his wife Doris were also avid walkers at the mall and Wildwood Park. Jerry spent many hours playing his guitar and singing his favorite gospel songs.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolly Jean Meidt. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Doris M. (Stagnolia) Meidt; son, Christopher Meidt and granddaughters, Michelle and Sheena; daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Worthy and their children; stepson, Robert (Linda) Adams; stepdaughter, Sharon (Lloyd) Beck; sister, Pat (Jack) Davis and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
