Jerome “BO BO” Patrick was born to Mrs. Nellie McIntyre on November 22, 1957. Jerome never knew his father which contributed to the down spirals of his lifetime. He grew up in a house of 9 kids, He didn’t graduate high school, but did study for his GED. Shortly after he met Phyllis the love of his life together, they had two children Barbara and Shaunta Patrick. Jerome worked for Conrail Railroad for many years then went on to work for Roadway driving semi-trucks. Jerome had a passion for working on cars. He could fix anything; he earned the name “BO BO” the mechanic. Family and friends called on “BO BO” with their car troubles up until 2020 when he physically couldn’t do it anymore. He could still give advice though which he often did about any and everything whether you wanted to hear it or not, right or wrong “BO BO” said what he had to say. The great debater would say things like “your smarter than me huh with your 6th grade college degree” or you’re a “smart ass dummy” and if the debate went too far you would hear his famous phrase “I don’t get mad often”
Although Jerome lived a rough life and fell victim to his addiction even went to prison a couple times that did not change his kind heart or love for the Lord. If it was anything he could physically do to help others such as paint a house, fix a sink or get your car back up and running he did just that.
Bo Bo had many things he enjoyed doing when he was thinking clearly. He liked to fish, cook and sing in his low bass tone. He loved a good game of spades, reading books and as mentioned before he enjoyed a good debate.
Jerome moved to Louisiana for a short period of time with his Second wife Ruby. He resided in Columbus Ohio for years until the passing of his wife when he moved back to Toledo. Then he gained relationships with his grandchildren.
Jerome spent his last years at home alone. He didn’t want to leave his house. His Friend Jim would take him to his appointments and to the grocery store from time to time. He would call and argue with his niece Corina and brother baldie. He called his daughter to order him something to eat. His favorite pizza with anything he wanted pepperoni onion bell peppers sausage and please don’t forget his Jalapenos. He talked often with his good friends Tanya and Willie, and called his sister-in-Law Thelma who in his eyes could fix any problem.
Jerome suddenly departed this life on June 17, 2024, at home. He is preceded in death by his mother Nellie, uncle Udell brother Tony, sister Caroline, his stepson Bruce and his wife Ruby.
