Jerome L. Klein

April 8, 1936 — February 27, 2023

Jerome L. "Jerry" Klein, age, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 27, 2023. His daily wish was to be with his wife, Jean, who went to Heaven November 18, 2014.

Jerry was born April 8, 1936, in Lenexa, Kansas. He married Jean Bardiau April 14, 1956, in Shawnee, Kansas, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1954-1962. Jerry began his career in the food industry in Kansas City. He was a store manager with the Kroger Company and later in sales with Purex Corp. His sales profession required many transfers and in 1971, he was recruited by Stark and Company, a major food brokerage firm to manage an office in Toledo. He spent 36 years in the brokerage business, creating a successful business, retiring in 1997. Jerry and his wife Jean were avid golfers and were members of Stone Oak Country Club. They loved to travel and made many trips to Hawaii and Europe as well as to the Caribbean and Far East.

Jerry was a member of T.A.G.M.R. (Toledo Area Grocery Manufactures) and the Toledo Food Brokers Association. He was Senior Vice President Stock Holder, and on the Board of Directors at Stark and Company. He was one of the early members to join Stone Oak Country Club and was a Trustee on their Board of Directors. He was a member of Harvest Lane Church for 40 years and served on the Governing Board and as treasurer.

Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his daughter, Denise (Kevin) Beck; son, Michael (Karen) Klein; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Ginny) Klein, Eugene Klein; and sister-in-law, Cindy Klein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Marguerite Klein and brother, William Klein.
