Jeffrey L. "Jeff" Scott, age 67, of Monroe, MI, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1956 to Roger and Loann (Grosteffon) Scott in Toledo, OH. Jeff graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnstown, PA. He worked for City Auto Stamping, and then Progressive Industries where he obtained his Journeyman's Card as a Tool & Die Maker. He retired from Metal Forming and Coining after many years. Jeff was a longtime member of Local 12 serving as vice chairman during his time at Metal Forming and Coining.
He was a high school hockey player with a love of the game, even having a movie debut as an extra in the 1977 movie, Slapshot, filmed in Johnstown, PA. Jeff was an avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Football. He had a love of traveling, motorcycles, riding his Harley, even racing motocross in his younger years. Jeff always lived his live to the fullest with no regrets!
Jeff had a passion for music, especially attending concerts with his family, a pastime they will all cherish. He looked forward to spending time with his daughter and granddaughter, they were the light of his life. Jeff's smile, spirit and feisty nature will truly be missed and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Scott; mother, Loann Garno; brother, Trent Garno; amazing grandparents, Dawson and Bessie Grosteffon; and Dorothy Scott-Green; and several loving aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish Jeff's memory are his loving daughters, Lauren Scott and Jessika (Ron) Caris; granddaughters, Hayden Scott, Alexis Duskey, Aliza Hefner, and Alivia Hefner; sister, Lisa (Shawn) Dearing; sister-in-law, Tammy Garno; nieces, Elissa (Keith) Rapp, Allie (David Twigg) Dearing, Hannah and Bailey Garno; aunt, SueAnn Cairl; the Original Magnificent Seven, Randy, Tracey, Billy, Scott, and Cameron, with Jennifer joining later; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Club 16, 316 S. King Rd., Holland, OH 43528. The Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
