Jeffrey Scott Rutledge, Sr. age 55, a lifelong resident of Toledo and Oregon, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at The Toledo Hospital after a long illness. He was born September 22, 1965 in Toledo to Jules and Margaret (Forsche) Rutledge. Jeff was a hardworking man. He was HVARC trained and a Master Tradesman employed with H & F Refrigeration and Briten Services for many years. In his earlier career, Jeff was a Plumber with the local Union.
He was an avid fan of both the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians, cheering them on without hesitation. Jeff also had a competitive spirit enjoying computer games, video games and trips to casinos all over to gamble. He was strong, proud and funny cracking jokes all the time. Jeff also enjoyed watching TV and movies. Some of his favorites included the Marvel movie series and Star Trek.
Most importantly Jeff liked spending time with family, friends and his favorite canine companion, his Chihuahua, "Koko". When it came to his family, Jeff worked hard to keep his kids happy and healthy, surrounding them with love and support.
In addition to his mother, Margaret Shute, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tom Braker and friend, Judy Deselms-Steedman . Jeff is survived by his loving children, Jeffrey S.(Rebecca) Rutledge, Jr. and Tiffany M. Douglas; grandchildren, Caylee, Lilyan, Luke, Spencer and Joseph Pfaff and Emalena, Raidyn, Zachariah and Nathaniel Rutledge; father and stepmother, Jules and Kathy Rutledge; brothers, John and Brian Rutledge and sister, Julie Haupricht; longtime friend, Susie Schumann and a host of other dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer, West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd. (419-392-9500). Please come and remember Jeff with his family.
