Jeffrey L. Harris

Jeffrey L. Harris, age 53, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy-Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 28, 1955 to Myron and Beverly (Fowler) Harris in Ashland, Ohio. Jeff was a scholar and enjoyed reading about all kinds of topics specializing in horticulture and the care of trees. Jeff loved the woods and being outdoors. He also enjoyed politics and challenged himself with current events. Jeff will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving man with a big heart and a great sense of humor.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Myron Harris and brother, Steven Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Teresa J. (Owens) Harris; mother, Beverly J. (Harris) Merkle; sister, Linda Harris-Mayo; mother-in-law, Pauline Wiles; stepfather, Lee Merkle; special friend, Lenny Daly and many dear brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and great friends.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
