Jeffrey Alan Crabtree

May 22, 1971 — March 18, 2021

Jeffrey Alan Crabtree was born on May 22, 1971 in Toledo, Ohio and passed away unexpectedly on Thursday March 18, 2021. Jeff spent 26 years working for the railroad, most recently as an engineer. He married the love of his life in 2003 and they spent the last 18 years together enjoying cruises, camping, concerts and becoming proud grandparents.

Jeff was an avid sports fan who would never miss a fall football Saturday cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved the LA Kings and The Washington Redskins. On sunny days, you could find him on his Harley, most frequently riding to Sandusky with Sherry on the back. Jeff spent much of his time hunting in the woods, some of his favorite memories with his Dad, waiting for the biggest and baddest buck to get within bow range, and he never missed a shot. He has many deer mounts on display in his home, proud trophies of his endeavors.

Jeff had many hobbies and interests, but all who knew him would tell you he loved rock music, 80s hair bands, and most of all Motley Crue. He played bass and spent many years touring with bands and making friends with Greg Steele, Eric Stacey, Brett Michaels and Nikki Sixx, who he named his first daughter Nikole after. He enjoyed daily phone calls with his Mom, going to the gun range with his daughter Kalene, getting tattoos, and spoiling his grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Crabtree; children, Nikole (Jake) Nowicki and Kalene (Alex) Crabtree; step-children, Elizabeth (Alex) and Jacob Modde; beloved grandchildren, Peyton and Zoey Jo Nowicki and Camden Reddman; loving parents, Cynthia and Russell Maze; siblings, Jennifer (Chris and his godson, Cameron) Johnson and Joshua Maze; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Anthony Kohler-Long; father and mother in-law, John and Rosemary Richards and sister-in-law, Carrie Richards.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Jeannine Patterson; uncle, Ricky Patterson and his dogs, Bailey and Brewtus.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, March 23rd from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer, West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Road, Toledo (419-392-9500). The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 24th at 10:30 a.m. with cemetery services to follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
