On the wings of an angel went Jeff on another journey after a courageous 28 month battle with cancer. Jeff was born on December 29, 1958 to Donald and Joyce (Kruse) Lutman in Toledo. He was employed with Jeep for 31 years until retiring in 2006. Jeff was also a UAW Local 12 member. He was a man of many interests such as golfing, boating, fishing and NASCAR to name a few. Jeff was a die-hard Michigan fan and loved to spend time at the lake with family and friends. He loved to travel and was fortunate to enjoy many distant places. Jeff had a desire to see the beauty that God had created. His last journey was in July to Alaska, a lifelong dream. If a man is judged by his friends, Jeff was a big man. His zest for life will never be forgotten, nor will he. May Jeff make a pathway in heaven for all his family and friends so they may meet him at their time.
Jeff is survived by his wife, his true love, Darlene; children at heart, Jackie, Desiree (Jamie) and Matthew; granddaughters, Alecia, Kenzie and Ava, who Jeff thought to be the best things on Earth; parents, Donald and Joyce Lutman; siblings, Steve (Sue) Lutman, Scott (Regina) Lutman and Tammy (Todd) Alcorn, who were all loved very dearly; Uncle Chuck Wilkins; sisters-in-law, Pam (Jack), Tina (Ted), Patty (Pat); brothers-in-law, Bob, Tom and Joe (Lee); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Jeff will be joining in heaven his in-laws, Harvey and Florence Anderson; grandparents, Robert and Lillian Alta Lutman, Leo Kruse and Elsie and Gordon Stevens, Aunt Marilyn Wilkins and Uncle Richard Kruse.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Clark.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make donations are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff and caregivers with Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Tonya, for all of your loving care and support given to Jeff and his family through this difficult time.
