Jeannette E. Miller

Jeannette (Jeanne) E. Miller, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio died January 12, 2016. She was born January 15, 1923 to George and Ruth (Spees) Ladd in Toledo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam, to whom she was married for 52 years. Jeanne worked in Medical Records at the former Maumee Valley Hospital and then the Medical College of Ohio for many years, retiring as Tumor Registrar in 1984. As Tumor Registrar, she was responsible for tracking the occurrence of all types of cancer, including treatment and follow-up of patients at MCO, and coordinating those statistics with other Tumor Registry programs nationally. After retiring, she served as a proctor for the medical students at MCO, and worked for the Toledo Zoo. She was previously a member of the Margaret Hunt Senior Center and a current active member of the Maumee Senior Center. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time in the church office for many years. Jeanne was active in various bowling leagues in previous years and enjoyed playing Euchre with her friends at the Maumee Senior Center. She was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her infant son, Carl; step-father, Lowell Frederick, Sr.; brothers Lowell "Bud" Frederick, Jr., Howard and George Ladd; sisters, Pauline McStay and Helyn Kohler; grandchildren, twins Jennifer and James Miller and great-grandchildren, triplets Gabriel, Maxwell and Jameson Snyder.

Jeanne is survived by her son, John (Sheryl) Miller, of Grapevine, TX and daughter, Carol (Thomas, Sr.) Killen, of Perrysburg, OH; brothers, William (Ruth) Frederick, Verne (Adrienne) Ladd and Gerald (Virginia) Ladd; grandchildren, Jack (Kameo) and Joseph Miller, Diane (Jim) Durliat, Kristen (Jeremy) Snyder and Thomas (Parris) Killen, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Erika, Todd, Connor, Adam, Mason, R.J., Madalyn, Drew, Cooper and Emma, and one great-great-grandchild, Jaxson.

The family will receive guests, Friday, January 15, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615 with burial in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Jeanne's memory. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
