Jeanette C. Hunter, age 88, formerly of Woodmont Road in West Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph C. and Inez (Wendel) Curtiss on Valentine's Day in 1922. A resident of Sunset House for the past three years, Jeanette was a 1940 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. She worked at Owens-Illinois as an executive secretary for over 20 years, retiring in 1978.
Her greatest joys in life were her family. Jeanette's love and devotion to them could never be measured. She also took great enjoyment in her neighbors, her gardens that she maintained, music, dancing and traveling throughout the world.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Susan H. Kulger of Cranbury, New Jersey; sons, Edward J. of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Thomas C. of Toledo, Ohio and John R. of Temperance, Michigan. She also leaves to cherish her memory, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Ruth Curtiss Fowler and granddaughter, Patricia L. Kugler.
The family would like to thank the nurses and the staff at Sunset House Retirement Community and Hospice of Northwest Ohio, for the love and care they provided for Jeanette.
