Jean Reiner Vancik , formerly of Westlake passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on July 14 at her daughter's home in Perrysburg, Ohio where she had been living for 8 years.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 66 years, Joseph, and their son, Jim (Beth). Jean is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Vancik-Schmotzer (Arthur J. Schmotzer deceased) and Jeanne's fiancée, Steven A. Sparks.
A loving grandmother to Joseph (Jennifer) Vancik, Adam (Kristina) Craig, Jay (Catherine) Vancik, Ryan Craig and Tony Tran and Christopher (Mollie) Schmotzer. Jean was great grandmother to Matthew and Danica Vancik in Wisconsin, Maeve and Bea Vancik in Paris, France, Stephen Popovich, Abigail, Zachary and Michael Craig of Michigan and Jonathan and Tim Schmotzer of Ohio.
Jean enjoyed watching Cleveland sports and feeding her uneaten meals to her faithful canine companion, Lilly. Jean was an accomplished seamstress and her friends, family and entire bridal parties have missed her expertise over the years. She will be remembered for her sweet disposition and her desire to help.
She was laid to rest along side of her husband, Joseph, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
