Jean Marie Kline

Jean Marie Kline, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, after a prolonged illness.

Born on October 23, 1947, at Riverside Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, Jean was the daughter of the late Kenneth Merwin and Luella May Kline. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1966 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Lourdes College in the 1980s.

Jean dedicated many years to a career in banking at National City/PNC before stepping away to care for her mother.

A devoted member of the Toledo First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Jean found joy in working with children's programs. She created weekly memory verse props for morning programs, and served as a counselor for middle school students in Girl Scouts and Pathfinders. She enjoyed attending 577 classes, where she developed skills to assist in leading card-making, scrapbooking, and quilting activities for church members. She also had a passion for making ceramics.

Jean loved traveling, visiting historical sites, attending doll conventions, and participating in outdoor scouting adventures, including canoeing, hiking, and camping.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia May Kline, and cousins James Wenz of Perrysburg, Ohio; Nancy Smyth of Florida; and Carol Lawrence of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Merwin Kline and Luella May (Hoyt) Kline.

Jean will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and dedication to her faith, church, and community.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623 on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the funeral home, at 11:00 am. Following services, Jean will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
