Jean Amelia Lindley Beavers, age 92, of Toledo, passed away at home in her husband's arms on Sunday June 30, 2013. She was born on March 17, 1921 to Leo and Freida (Weber) Lindley in Wauseon, Ohio. Jean was an executive secretary with Willys Overland for many years and retired with Teamsters Local #20 as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed reading, cooking and was an avid gardener. Jean was a lifetime member of the Poppyseed Garden Club. She loved nothing more than the time spent with her family. Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Blanche Kurtolick; and brother, Dale Lindley. Jean is survived by her loving husband of almost 71 years, Emmett Beavers, Sr.; children, Emmett (Sylvia Clark) Beavers, Jr., Linda Jean Beavers and Charles (Diane) Beavers; 6 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; special nieces, Jeannie (Fred) Riches and Sharon (Les) Gericke; special nephew, Gary (Carolyn) Hodgson; special friend, Debbie (Richard) Schlagheck; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with the Order of the Eastern Star Services at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3077 Valley View Dr., Ottawa Hills, OH 43615 with visitation from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. in church. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
