Janice Ann Reed

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Janice Ann Reed, age 79, of Toledo, OH. She left us while sleeping peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was born to Warren "Red" and Virginia Dearing in 1943, she grew up in Toledo on Circular Rd where she met the love of her life, Thomas Reed, and attended Libbey High School where she graduated in1961. Janice and Tommy married on June 2, 1962, to this union two boys were born. Janice was a homemaker and in 1979, Tommy unexpectedly passed away. After the loss of her husband she found work as a clerk at the Toledo Museum of Art, before joining the Lucas County Clerk of courts where she worked for the next 25 years until she retired in 2004. Janice will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 17 years. Janice is survived by her sons, Douglas (Brian) Reed, and Michael Reed; brother, Bob Dearing; three granddaughters Stephanie Reed, Amanda (Corey) Flussi, and Taylor (Riley) Stewart; and 5 great-grandchildren, Mason, Landon, Cordelia, Mackenna and Thomas. The family would like to give a special thank you to Erica Grueshaber for her loving support and care given to Janice.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions-Southwest Chapel (419-381-1900). Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Followed by burial at Lake Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Janice's memory.
