Janet K. Mosqueda, age 81, of Toledo, passed away October 17, 2022 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was surrounded by loved ones: her husband and daughter held her hands while her favorite song played.
She was born June 11, 1941 in Toledo to William F. and Gladys (Perry) Shuff, Sr. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Lesia Horner, and son, Billy Wayne Moore; and siblings June (Ron) Chandler, William F. (Cathy) Shuff, Jr., and Barb Manning.
She is survived by the most handsome man she ever saw, her husband, Peter E. Mosqueda; daughter, Heather Mosqueda; grandchildren, Amanda Sattler, Steven (Cynthia) Moore, Leonard Horner, III, and Ashley Riordan; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sallie Shrewsberry.
After her 1959 graduation from DeVilbiss High School, Janet held a number of notable jobs. Her favorite was driving a school bus for Toledo Public Schools. Well known for her crocheting, cake decorating, and biscuit making, she also enjoyed cultivating yellow roses, visiting the various Metroparks, savoring ice cream, and playing with animals.
The family will celebrate a private funeral mass at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Metroparks Toledo, Salvation Army, or any animal welfare organization.
