Janet L. Martinez, beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother and Grandmother went to be with the Lord unexpectedly August 3, 2024, at the age of 49. Janet was the Daughter of Maria Martinez and Alfred Martinez.
She was born August 20, 1974. She grew up in Holland, OH, where she attended Springfield Local Schools, from which she also graduated (Class of 1993). Janet worked for Pitt Ohio Express for 20 years, where she made her career in Logistics.
Janet made an impact on so many lives, she was loved by everyone she encountered. She had the biggest smile and most contagious laugh; she could brighten even the darkest day. With her Vivacious personality, she lit up every room she walked into. She had a sense of humor that allowed her to connect with anyone. There was never a dull moment with her around. Janet was one of the kindest people one could meet. She gave no judgements and tried to help or be a shoulder for any one who needed it. She was the support system of her family, being the one her nieces and nephews would turn to for advice, a hug or even a safe space to get away to. She was a social butterfly, having more friends than one can ask for. Janet cherished being a mother and would do anything for her children. She was so very proud of them, they were the light of her life.
Although she was a sweet, loving and kind person she was also a no nonsense kind of lady, valuing manners and respect. Janet was a strong, loving, kind and independent person all her life. She loved music of all kinds (especially classic rock), watching sports (Go Eagles! She would say) , going to concerts, trips out of town, dining out and even watching the sun rise or set. She will be forever missed.
In addition to her grandparents, Janet is preceded in death by the love of her life, Johnnie M. Jude Jr. (Taco); She will be deeply missed by those left to cherish her memory; She is survived by mother, Maria Martinez; father, Alfred (Rose) Martinez; children, Sierra Martinez, Johnnie Jude III, Da’Niya Murphy Martinez, Tenaj Posley, and Teyanna Posley; grandchild, Aviyah Jude; sisters, Linda (Andrew) Dunn, Esther (Robert) Glaser, Penny Carmona, Becky Martinez, Rachel Martinez; brother, Richard Martinez; and special friends, Tommayne Posley and Marisa Rains.
