Janet Mae Joy

Janet Mae Joy, age 80, of Maumee, OH passed away November 7, 2022 at The Toledo Hospital. She was born December 24, 1941 in Toledo to Conrad Buehrer and Lillian Watson. Janet made numerous friends working at The Vineyard Wine Shop at Westgate. She enjoyed crocheting, counted cross stitch, cooking, baking and giving to others. At her core, Janet was a fiercely loving and devoted wife, mom and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her .

In addition to her parents, Janet was also preceded in death by her siblings, Jerlyn (Dutch) Dutridge and Jerry (Armand) Buehrer. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James "Ed" Joy; children, David (Debbie) Joy, Mary Ann Joy and Elizabeth (Steve) Joy; grandchildren, Chaela (Patrick) Laffan, Dylan Sodd, Christina (Steve) L'Ecuyer, Steven Joy, Ian Joy, Casey (Katie) Thress and Lynn (Tom) Haines; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Izzy, Charley, Josey, Parker, Madison, Stella, Carson, Zac and Nora.

The family will receive guests Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hyacinth Church, 719 Evesham Ave Toledo, OH 43607 (please meet directly at church). Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Special thank you to the entire team at the Toledo Hospital SICU especially, Bryce, Emily, Joe, Matt, Terry and the team of doctors who stayed with the family through all of Janet's medical care (and to those not mentioned specifically).
