Janet I. Faust, age 78, went to be with the Lord. With great sadness we must say goodbye to my mom, who has joined my father in heaven, to continue their journey together and to reunite with others who have preceded her. May their journey be filled with love and happiness until it's our time to rejoin them in our forever journey forward. Janet passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2022 at home. She was born January 16, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to Melvin Kigar Sr. and Alta (Helen) Kigar.
She was a 1963 graduate of Waite High School. She married James E. Faust on March 19, 1965. Janet had worked as an LPN for 25 years and a courier for 10 years.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Mike and Lynn; and a daughter, Lori Kay Ballard; grandchildren, Andrew Ballard, Mark Cunningham, Michael Cunningham, Christopher Faust (Amy), Kelli Aiello (Mike) and Pansy Faust (Greg); brothers, Melvin Kigar Jr. (Lona), Gary Kigar (Cheryl), and Douglas Kigar (Marcia); sisters, Eleanor Raetzke (William), Judy Opial, Beverly Lewis, Karen Elwardany; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Faust; Fiancée, Olin Byrd; parents, Melvin Kigar Sr. and Alta (Helen) Kigar, daughter, Venus Faust; son-in-law, John Lewis Ballard.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Janet touched are invited to Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, OH 43623, on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, to reminisce, laugh, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat, from 11:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 12:00 pm. Janet will be laid to rest at a later date at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
