Janet Lee Despoth, age 77, passed away peacefully, Sunday May 28, 2017. She left our arms to forever be with her Heavenly Father. She spent her last week in the comfort of her home with her family around her. Janet was born April 1, 1940 in Charleston, West Virginia to James "Coleman" and Irene (McDaniels) Murphy. She grew up as a coal miner's daughter in West Virginia. She moved to Ohio right after high school where she met the love of her life at the age 20. They were wed soon after and were married nearly 57 years. God truly blessed their marriage with a loving family.
Janet retired as a Banquet Manager with The Hilton Hotel where she worked for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Toledo Towne Club. Janet was also a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents James "Coleman", Irene (McDaniels) Murphy and her brother James "Bub" Murphy Janet is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Despoth, Sr.; children, Richard (Debby) Despoth, Jr., Mark (Rhonda) Despoth and Timothy (Mary) Despoth; grandchildren, Mark (Emily) Despoth, Matthew (Veronica) Despoth, Luke Despoth, Hailey (Richard) Watkins, Whitney Despoth, Isaiah Despoth, Steven Despoth, Michael Despoth, David Despoth and Christopher Despoth; great-grandson, James Despoth; siblings, Shelby, Frances, Caroline, Jerry, Sherry, Sue and Steve.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mary Despoth and Renee Legree for their assistance and care enabling her to live in the comfort of her own home.
Janet, Mom, Grandma, we will miss your kind eyes, warm heart, loving smile and will love you forever.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd. where the family will greet guests at 10:00 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church in Janet's memory.
