Jane B. Sheets
Jane B. Sheets, age 80, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo in the arms of her loving husband. She was born February 5, 1926 to Neal and Virginia (Hummel) Bear in Toledo. She was a longtime member of Cass Road Baptist Church, serving as the secretary of the TAABA for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of Adams Township Legion Post #553. Jane was an excellent cook and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She made people feel special by always remembering to send cards on special occasions over the years.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sons, James "Tiger" and Jerry Sheets; brothers, Neal Bear, Jr. and Robert Bear. She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 60 years, James F. Sheets; son, Joel Sheets; daughters, Jane (Ken) Laponis of Nashua, NH; Jill Sheets and Jann Siwa; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Norbert) Rucki; brothers, Charles (Carolyn) Bear and John (Susan) Bear and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastors, J. Truett Fogle and DR. NAME. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made at the Cass Road Baptist Church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
