Jane H. Cox, age 92, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2018 at The Grove at Oakleaf Village. She was born July 1, 1925 to Ray and Martha Harders in Lombard, Illinois. Jane graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. After moving to Toledo with her husband in 1963 she worked for over 20 years at Woodward High School as a Girls Physical Education teacher before retiring in 1986. Jane enjoyed sailing, gardening, winters in Florida, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Philip Cox; children, Thomas (Sharon) Cox, MD and Joann Baidel; grandchildren, Andrew (Cara) Cox, Allison (Tony) Gardull, and Alexandria Baidel; great-grandchildren, Rigby and Soren Cox; and brother, Thomas (Fran) Harders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Harders.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
