Jan Cook

Janet E. "Jan" Cook, age 78, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Flower Hospital. She was born on June 6, 1933 to Chester and Nellie (Whitman) in Flint, Michigan. Jan was the owner and operator of J&J Crafts; truly a master of knitting. She was the master finisher for all of the local knitting and crocheting shops. Jan enjoyed to cook and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 57 years, James "Jimmy" Cook; and son, Michael Cook. Jan is survived by her loving children, Jim (Judy), William (Deb), Scott (Linda) and Suzanne (Chuck); grandchildren, Jason (Sherri), Jessie, Mike, Heather, Will (Amanda), Brandon, Ryan (Connie), Alexa, Brady, Gary, Quinn and Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300).
