James W. Laughlin

James W. Laughlin, age 68, of McAlpin, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Lake Park Comfort Care. He was born April 16, 1940 to Earl Terrance and Dorothy (Burgone) Laughlin in Toledo. James loved being a mechanic and was employed with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department for over 26 years. He was also a talented woodworker, just having completed a beautiful entertainment center. James was an avid Nascar fan. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Laughlin and sons, James Rolland and Mark Wayne Laughlin. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Terrance Laughlin of MI, Bonnie Laughlin of Toledo and Charleen (Kelly) Thomas of GA; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; loving companion Beverly and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
