James Alvin Turner

James Alvin Turner, age 82, of Toledo, OH, passed away May 19, 2022 at University of Michigan Hospital. James was born May 20, 1939 in Capron, VA, to Walter and Elizabeth (Taylor) Turner. He was employed with the Toledo Pickling and Steel for more than 30 years retiring in 2002. James was a member of Teamsters Local 20. He had a great love for fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in by his siblings, Lawrence Turner and Odessa Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Hazel Y. Turner; son, Jonathan Turner; daughters, Marjorie (Kenneth) Rupert, and Pamela (Edward) Moore; grandchildren, Marvin Parker, Krystal Rupert, and Alexis Rupert; great grandchildren, Cameron and Jordan Parker; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 12:00 pm. at the funeral home.
