James E. "Jim" Tellefsen, age 77, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo with his loving wife and lifelong friend, Sandy by his side. He was born on June 28, 1940 to Herbert and Marie (Critzer) Tellefsen in Toledo. Jim graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1958. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Jim was the owner of Greenbriar Gift Shop in Sylvania Twp. for over 20 years and then was a landlord for residential and commercial buildings for many years before retiring. He also graduated from Owens Community College with a Culinary Degree and worked as a professional cook for many years. Jim enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Richard Tellefsen. Jim is survived by his wife, Sandy (Dodds) Tellefsen; children, Judith (Jerry) McDermott and Randy (Jessi) Dodds; grandchildren, Holly, Daniel and Matthew; and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer – NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
