James T. Rooney, age 91, passed away on February 11, 2016. He was born on September 18, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio.
Jim was a proud veteran of the Korean War and WWII. He served in both the Air Force and Army. Jim worked for the City of Toledo for 35 years. He married Beatrice Shalhoup on May 1, 1975. Jim enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with his loving wife of 41 years, Bea.
The family will receive guests from 2-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Burial will be private.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: Kindred Home Hospice, St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church or St. George Antiochian Cathedral.
