James T. Gray, Jr

James T. Gray, Jr. age 68, of Toledo, passed away peacefully March 28, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1948 in Toledo to James and Ila (Viers) Gray, Sr. Jim served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a proud graduate of Michigan State University. He retired from ABC Warehouse in Oregon, Ohio. Jim was a parishioner of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church where he was president of the St. Pat's Conference Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He was an active volunteer for the outreach ministries including the annual church festival. Jim was an avid sports fan of Michigan State, Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.

Jim is survived by his life-partner, Barb Dixon; son, James T. (Kasey) Gray, III; daughter, Melissa Gray-Smith; 5 grandchildren; siblings, Dennis (Judy) Gray, Karen Tiede, Sharon Strahota, Bryan Gray, Sr. and Duane (Kathy) Gray; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Bonnie Jean, Thomas and Alan.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, where the family will greet guests at 10:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church or St. Pat's Conference SSVdP in Jim's memory.
