James Striggow
July 26, 1941 — March 5, 2017
James "Jim" Striggow, 75, passed away on March 5, 2017 with his loving wife by his side. Jim was born on July 26, 1941 to Horace and Helen (Milling) Striggow in Toledo, OH. He married Janet (Louys) on December 29, 1978.
Jim took pride in serving his country as a US Marine. Throughout his career, Jim worked at Art Iron, Haughton Elevator, LOF and he retired from Toledo Public Schools.
Jim enjoyed traveling with his wife of 38 years, spending time at their cottage on Merry Lake and visiting his children. He loved to work with wood and over the years he created many toys and pieces of furniture that are truly treasured by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jan; children Tammy (Dave) Seiler, Tim (Denise) Striggow, Dawn Debbe (Rick Folsom), Nicole (Paul) Nungester; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jim was a wonderful father and husband and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive guests, Friday, March 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Military Honors will begin at 3:00 p.m.
