James Robert Norton

James Robert "Bob" Norton, age 71, of Maumee, Ohio, was called home by his Heavenly Father June 23, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 10, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, to Bearl and Beatrice (Birmingham) Norton. Bob graduated from Macomber High School and The University of Toledo where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He served in the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Bob was a Systems Analyst for Doehler-Jarvis, NCR, AP Parts and LOF. In retirement, he enjoyed working for The Toledo Museum of Art as a Gallery Guard. Bob was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the Board of Elders and Church Council, as President of the PTO, and brought joy to the shut-ins.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol R. Norton; daughters, April Norton and Alicia (Blake Beetler) Smith; grandsons, Isaiah Smith and Donovan Dent; sister, Joan (Sterling) King; father and mother-in-law, William and Helen Schaub, Sr.; brother-in-law, Charles (Kristine) Schaub; sister-in-law, Sharon (Ken) Kamm and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William Schaub, Jr.

The family will receive guests Friday, June 26, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43614. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
