James R. "Jim" Rarrick, age 87, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, April 17th, 2011 surrounded by his family at The Toledo Hospital. He was born December 6th, 1923 to Ivan and Marie (Case) Rarrick in Toledo. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country proudly in World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School. Jim married Jacqueline "Jackie" (Coolidge) Rarrick in Toledo and they spent 60 wonderful years together. He retired from Surface Combustion after 20 years of service as a welder and in his spare time he enjoyed watching Nascar on Sundays with his family and playing pool at the Kahle Senior Center.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Randy and infant son, Rocky Rarrick. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Coolidge) Rarrick; daughter, Candie (Mike) Olic; son, Rick Rarrick; grandchildren, Kelly Adesi and Kathy (Jeff) Brown; four great-grandchildren and sister, Jackie Greene.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). At Jim's request there will be no formal funeral service.
