James A. Quick, 65, of Toledo, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 31, 2012 in his home. He was born July 1, 1947 in Toledo to Harold and Charlotte Quick. Jim was a graduate of the University of Toledo where he received his Bachelor's degree in Education. He was employed with the Boys Club for over 25 years, starting as the turn style attendant when he was 16. Jim became a unit director and eventually the assistant executive director. After leaving the Boys Club, Jim was the National Director of Marketing for B.E.C. Labs, Medical Products Division and eventually the National Director of Marketing for Ginwil Medical. He retired in 2002 due to health problems. Jim was an avid Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions fan and loved the game of golf. He was a member of the Toledo Christadelphian Ecclesia.
Left to cherish Jim's memory is his loving wife of 42 years, Phyllis (Henzler) Quick; son, Christopher Quick; sister, Patricia (Jack) DeChristopher; many family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Domini and brother, Jack B. Quick.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
