James M. Harlan, age 57, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, March 13th, 2011 at his home. He was born December 9th, 1953 to Melvin and Carol (Schassaberger) Harlan in Toledo, Ohio. Jimmy was employed with Chrysler for more than 32 years. He was also a longtime member of The Deaf Club of Toledo. Jimmy was an avid bowler active on leagues at Southwyck Lanes and Glass Bowl Lanes. He was also known to enjoy a good game of Poker with family and friends. Most importantly, Jimmy was a loving father, grandfather and friend and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Harlan. Jimmy is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Sarah) and Edward (Amanda) Harlan; grandchildren, Braeden, Jason, Emma and Marissa; siblings, Brenda (Eric) Wallior, Tina (John) Collins, Lisa (Logan) Bordner, Linda Harlan, Evelyn "Kay" Cranston and William Weott; stepmother, Doris Harlan and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
