James L. Lowry, age 80 of Toledo, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 16th, 2010. He was born on October 7th, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Raleigh and Ruth (Myers) Lowry. Jim graduated from Libby H.S. Soon after, he married his high school sweetheart, Delores Cuttaia. They would have celebrated their 61st Anniversary on July 28th. Together they raised four wonderful children. Jim worked as a mold designer at Libby Owens Ford Company in Rossford, Ohio for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masons of Ohio belonging to Boaz Lodge No. 669. He was also a member of the Zenobia Shriners of Toledo as well as the Zenobia Oriental Band of which he was past president. Jim and Delores enjoyed many trips with the Shriners. They also spent yearly vacations in Florida. He was a life long member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Toledo. Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching sports and especially spending time with his family. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a smile that would light up the room! "That Smile" will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Delores (Cuttaia); children, Jim (Lynne) Lowry, Vickie (Gary) Andrejan, Gary (Janice) Lowry and Bruce (Debbie) Lowry; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and his sister, Margie (Ralph) Plath.
The family will receive guests Monday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Lauman. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Cemetery.
