James K. Tebary, age 61, of Toledo, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on January 8, 1950 to Kenneth Orin and Mary (Wieczorek) Tebary in Toledo. James was a custodian with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library for over 25 years. He was an avid fisherman, loved cars and racing, especially Formula One, enjoyed traveling and loved dogs. James was a NY Yankee and Penn State fan. He enjoyed politics, history and loved a spirited discussion. He was a high standing member of the Communication Workers of America. James will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Costino and Margurite Tebary. James is survived by his son, James Anthony Tebary; wife, Mary "Janie" Tebary; uncle, Frank (Charlotte) Tebary; significant other, Lori Donahue; nephew, Anthony (Michelle) Tebary; niece, Julia (Steve) Lark; 4 great nephews; 1 great niece; half-sisters, Diane and Mary; and canine companions, Jack and Zoot.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society or a charity of their choice.
