James L. Hauter, age 75, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2006 in Flower Hospital. He was born December 10, 1930 to Walter and Philomen (Robarge) Hauter in West Unity, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country proudly. James was employed in the food service industry retiring in 1988 at the age of 57. During his employment James worked for A & P Tea Co, Matlack and Associated Grocers. He was also a Life Member of VFW #606, Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent #44 and the AMVETS #52. James was also a member of the American Legion #514 Ida, Michigan.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Walter and Harold Hauter. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Claire S. Hauter; sons, Jeff (Sandra) Hauter and James C. Hauter of Denver, CO; step-children, Laurie (Mike) Thornton; John (Ellen) Kaminski and James (Carla) Kaminski; sister, Phyllis (Jim) Gribble; sister-in-law, Helen Hauter; grandchildren, Damian and Riley Hauter; step-grandchildren, Amy Thornton; Michael (Stephanie) Thornton; Nathan (Alexis) Kaminski and Loren Kaminski; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Monday from 2-7:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral and Military Services will begin Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the Donor's Choice.
