James B. Harvey, 78 years old, of Toledo, born June 7, 1933 in Toledo to James M. and Oleen (Konrad) Harvey. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jim was employed by the Jeep Corporation for 35 years, retiring January 1, 1987. He loved to bowl and participated in many tournaments, even bowled with the professionals. Jim enjoyed crafting of many kinds, festivals especially listening to Bob Wurst Band. He also loved his dogs very much.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Jaynes) Harvey, whom he married January 9, 1960; children, Colleen (Don) Long, Donald (Carol) Harvey, Jacalyn Dedes; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 step-grandsons; 8 step-grandchildren; sister, Delores (Kevin) Hicks; brothers, Leonard (Alice) Harvey and Treston (Delores) Harvey.
The family will receive guests Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Monday, February 27, 2012 from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church 4560 Glendale Ave. Military committal services will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
