James M. Flynn

James M. "Jimmie" Flynn, age 87, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania with loving family by his side. He was born on June 8, 1935 to James Sr. and Bernice (Hogel) Flynn in Toledo. Jimmie was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. serving his country proudly during the Korean War. He was a true entrepreneur and always implementing new and exciting ideas. Jimmie had a passion for changing the world and left a great impression on everyone he met. He was strong in his faith and loved the Lord. Jimmie enjoyed the outdoors and being in nature. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was a jack of all trades, enjoyed helping others and lit up any room he walked into. Jimmie loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all. Jimmie would want you to remember him with a good cup of Tim Horton's black coffee, a good cigar and a smile!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Darrin Flynn. Left to cherish Jimmie's memory are his loving children, Erin Flynn, Jeff Flynn and Lisa (Glenn) Porter; grandchildren, Trevor Hunt, Kayla Pokornik, and Delaney Flynn; sisters, Marcia McCormick and Janet Voigt; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by a Sharing of Memories. Funeral Mass will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH 43613 with gathering from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass in church.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association or any association helping those with addiction.
