James E. "Jim" Lemley, age 80, of Toledo, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1932 to Francis and Vera (Wulf) Lemley in Toledo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country proudly during the Korean War. Jim was employed with GM Powertrain for 36.5 years before retiring. He loved to travel with his wife, his favorite places being Aruba and Hawaii. Jim enjoyed fishing and was a fan of The Ohio States Buckeyes and loved Nascar. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Bylow. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Judy Lemley; children, Jeffrey (Peggy) Lemley and Julie (Jeff) Smith; grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Dillon, Derek, Christopher and Sean; sister, Donna (Ralph) Henry; and brothers, Arnold and Raymond Lemley, both of California.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
