James E. Bires

June 27, 1952 — December 6, 2013

James E. "Big Jimmy" Bires, age 61, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 6, 2013 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born on June 27, 1952 to Joseph and Mildred (Cahill) Bires in Toledo. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country proudly in the Vietnam War receiving a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Jim owned and operated JMS Production and was also employed with Water Reclamation. He liked to ride motorcycles. Over the last 8 years Jim mended relationships and grew close with his family, who will deeply miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Bires. Jim is survived by his son, Shannon (Lisa) Bires; grandchildren, Coddie (Kaleasha) and Jorden Bires, Amanda, Jared, Alyssa and Adriene; great-grandchildren, Joe Joe, Lilly, Azure and MaKenna; brother, George (Risa) Bires; niece, Brittany Bires; nephew, Jeremy Bires; sister, Patricia Johnson; and many old and dear friends.

Memorial Services for Jim will take place Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post 587, 2020 W. Alexis Rd., Toledo 43613 with a gathering after until 5:00 p.m. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
