James John DuBry Jr., unexpectedly passed away on April 22, 2024. Born on June 3, 1961, Jimmy's life was marked by hard work, laughter, and compassion.
Growing up, he cultivated numerous friendships and excelled in athletics, particularly on the football field during his time as a Panther at Whitmer High School. Jimmy was a true football fan, through and through, and a loyal fan to his Ohio State Buckeyes.
From a young age, Jimmy possessed an adventurous spirit that led him to seek out new experiences, and appreciation for the outdoors, where he found solace and peace. In his early years as a young man, he found his way to the US Marine Corp., enlisting in 1984, where he proudly served his country. His life came full circle as he departed this world on the identical date, four decades after first joining the Marines.
Following his service as a Proud US Marine, "Ooh-Rah" Jimmy transitioned to civilian life, where he continued to exemplify the virtues of diligence and dedication. Joining the Laborers' Local 500, he applied himself wholeheartedly to his work, taking pride in every project he undertook, knowing that each building he contributed to would stand as a testament to his craftsmanship for generations to come.
Jimmy was not only strong physically but also had a heart as vast as his warm smile. He maintained an active lifestyle and was a fixture at the gym. Even at 62, he effortlessly removed a deep-rooted tree stump with an ax! His kindness knew no bounds-he fed the homeless, sharing whatever food he had, and rescued animals in need. At a construction site, he once halted work to save baby ducklings. His rescue cats were his companions, and they now mourn his absence.
Jimmy was known for being very funny and always making people laugh. He was such a unique guy with a personality that was so big and full of life, and an old soul with his music and ways. With a heart as big as his smile, he would go to great lengths to help those in need, whether it was a friend, a neighbor, or a complete stranger. He was a true hometown guy, through and through, full of love and laughter.
Jimmy's greatest love was reserved for his mother. An unbreakable bond, with every moment cherished spent together. He was her rock, her protector, her strength, a role he fulfilled... yesterday, today, and in all the tomorrows.
Jimmy's passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of kindness, laughter, and love.
He is preceded in death by his father, James John DuBry Sr., He leaves behind his loving mother, Ellen Mossburg, cherished sister Dawn DuBry, lifelong friend Jodi Riley and his legacy continues through his son, James Kash DuBry and his grandchildren.
